Blue

OK... now, what does the colour blue remind me of?

- Water (as a child, you learn that the water is blue - you don't actually find out that it is transparent until high school)
- Sadness (as blue is the opposite of yellow, and yellow means happy, then blue must be the opposite: sad)
- Cool (cool colour, makes you think of cooling... maybe it has something to do with water point)
- Ice (maybe... though it may be more WHITE than BLUE...)
- Fish (well, water... and fish live in the ocean)
- Sky (just look up, always, and you will see blue. Duh)
- Calm (as water is calm [well, unless you do Biology or something, then they say that the water molecules keep vibrating, but... whatever. It still looks calm.] and, you know, the water point. Why does the colour BLUE have so much to do with WATER?)
- Bluebird (maybe. I haven't really seen one before though)
- Kingfisher (maybe... are they blue or green?)
- Blueberries (well, finally! Something that I'm sure of!)

Well, nothing left (that I can think of.) :) Later.

Red

What do you think of when you see the colour red?

This is a list of what some people would think, I think...

- Blood (well, you know what colour blood is)
- Passion
- Hurt (related to blood)
- Anger
- Exhausted (red-faced from exhaustion)
- Hot (red hot)
- Stop (traffic lights)
- Danger (warning signs)
- Love (also related to passion, I suppose)
- Ladybirds (well, you never know, they might)
- Santa Claus (Christmas - deck the halls with boughs of holly) :)
- Coca Cola (more often known as Coke; nearly everyone seems to know about this... modern influences)
- KFC (well, their packaging is red... McDonalds is the same too, but they have 3 different colours, whereas KFC has only 2)
- Roses (the most popular/famous colour for roses, rose red, etc.)
- Maple leaves (well, they DO turn red in the autumn; looks very pretty too; all the red and yellow leaves floating down, and that unique shape of the leaves)
- Apples (how could I forget? The most basic fruit)
- Rambutans (to a lesser degree, also a fruit, for those of you that don't know... did I spell it right?)
- Cancel (well, the cancel button always seems to be red in the movies)

Well, that's all that I can think of for the moment. :)

Wishful thinking...

Sometimes I wish that there was no injustice in the world... I mean, because of injustice, people can get away with things because of having an unfair advantage (eg. the richer people seem to have a different set of rules than the poorer, same for popular people, etc.). Because of this, innocent people get killed, and 'evil' people can 'reign supreme'.

Not that they are. I know, we sometimes hear stories about how someone, against all the odds, beats another person with an unfair advantage. That's one of the things that makes us all wish for the same thing to happen to us, that we will finally beat our own 'weaknesses', so to speak, and finally gain happiness.

But, sadly, it can't happen to all of us. As there are advantages, whether unfair or not, there are also disadvantages (eg. maybe a lower start to life, different problems, etc.) Sometimes I wish that the whole world could agree with each other, maybe even work together as one big family. But, unfortunately, even in the best of families, there will always be clashes. So then, maybe it's not such a good thing for everyone to work together... I mean, the 'clashes'...

My near-impossible wish for injustice to end forever is not entirely possible without help, but, slowly, we can make a difference. Just try it. :)

Fire

Same as Shadow... what is it? Can't really be classified as solid, liquid, or gas... for the same reasons as Shadow...

I wish that people would come up with a way to describe what they really are, you know, like... Ilote... or something... (Name was made up, I'm sorry if it means offends you or something; I had no idea. Just tell me and I'll take it off.)

Shadow

The thing about it is... what is it? I mean, we can classify things into solid, liquid or gas... but a shadow's not solid (It changes shape, doesn't it? Can't really measure the surface area very properly.)... it can't be a liquid because you can't measure it in terms of volume...and it can't be a gas because it's not really in the air around us...

So... what is it? Comments appreciated. :)

Random

Another random! Wait a sec... are these even in the right order...? Never mind that. Just keep reading, if you want to...

List 2 - Shopping

- 1 batch of eggs (fresh not fried)
- 1 bag of apples (not oranges, pears, or lemons)
- 3 cartons of milk (for the cows)
- half a chicken (to partner the other half that I have at home)
- half a kg of veges (for the vege-eating people)

OK, that's all that I can think of at the moment... more to come soon...

Random

Now, while I try to figure out what to type next, I thought that I'd just type some random stuff down until I thought of something else to write...

I know!

List #1 - Musicals

- Les Miserables (Classical. Love the music, and the storyline is so touching. Originally a book by Victor Hugo, for those of you that don't know, about a revolution by Paris students, though that's a side story. The real story?... You're going to have to find out yourself.)

- Miss Saigon (To me, it seems like a musical version of Madame Butterfly [opera] set in a different place [Vietnam instead of Japan]. Sad story, but the songs are also written by the same people that did Les Miserables...)

- Grease (Who has NOT watched this? This musical, set in high school, never ceases to entertain... [Well, at least, it keeps entertaining me, you know, with the ball and the race and the... I'm spoiling it too much, aren't I? I'll be quiet now.] I love the songs [Summer loving, had me a blast...] and the characters are just so funny [I like Frenchie's voice! It's unique...], for those people that have not seen this musical, I highly recommend it. You're totally missing out.)

- Chess (Sounds funny, I know, but still... the main theme of this musical is about divorce and stuff [Chess too, I guess.] and the songs are good [Actually, to tell you the truth, I've only heard one song in the entire musical, 'I Know Him So Well'... it's so good... and the lyrics are so touching... at least, those that I can make out :) The music is created by the guys from ABBA... after they broke up, I think... and the songwriting duo have really done some good work here.)

- Little Shop Of Horrors (Well, someone I know has it on DVD... it's apparently different from the live performance [I won't say HOW, though...] This song is so stereotypical of the the nerdy person and the dumb blonde ['I call this the Audrey 2' 'Wow, that's a nice name' - no offence to either of the characters... they are played so well by the actors you actually think that they are like that in real life... though it seems that the nerdy guy also plays another nerdy guy in a totally different movie... Ghostbusters! Must try to find a copy of that movie so I can rewatch it to find out whether that is true or not!)

- Wicked (I have heard 2 songs from this musical... and I love it!!! When I can, I want to go and watch this musical!!! And the storyplot seems very relevant to me [Green girl tries to fit in... kinda...] I like what the storyplot is trying to tell [To me, this translates roughly to equal: there are TWO sides to a story.] Oh yeah!... storyplot... well, it's kinda like the life of the Wicked Witch of the West's life before Dorothy landed on Oz...)

OK... I know that there are more... but I can't think of any of them at the moment... if you feel as though I've missed something out... let me know via comments... thanks!

ABBA fans

Just checking to see if there are any other ABBA fans in the world... apart from me...

ABBA... the band made up of 2 couples from Sweden (I think)... their songs were catchy... pity they broke up... now, at least their songs still live on...

My favourite songs are 'Mamma Mia;, 'The Winner Takes It All', 'Money Money Money' and 'Knowing Me, Knowing You'... I like them 'cause their tunes are so catchy... plus I like a good ballad. :)

Though that doesn't mean that I don't like the other songs too... those are cool too... currently listening to ABBA songs :) ... 'Fernando', actually...

I recently watched a documentary on ABBA, which also happened to show what happened to ABBA after they broke up. Guess what? Both ladies continued singing solo careers until they stopped... one of them even released something in 1997! The guys continued their songwriting pair... and this is my favourite part!... They even created the songs for a musical, 'Chess'.... I've heard one of their songs, and already I like it (The musical, I mean.) The song is called 'I Know Him So Well'... you may not know the title, but maybe have heard the tune somewhere before... Remember how I said that I like a good ballad? :)

So... where are the all the ABBA fans? Give comments, advice, and any favourites... I don't mind... (Though you don't really have to.)

Assignment

Last term, I had to write an essay for my assignment (yes, it's still counted as an assignment!). It was pretty hard, mainly because we got to choose our own topic. There were a lot of topics that I could choose and so, it was difficult but still, I apparently managed to survive, as I'm still here and typing, with a relatively good score - well, it is a good score, to me at least.

The essay is about the fact that people always expect life to be fair.

People always expect a lot of this world, have you ever thought about that? When it comes to them, they're always right, but when it's others, it's mostly 'That person was cheating!' or something like that. Not only that, people expect good to always overcome evil. I mean, if the whole world was like that, then we wouldn't have any bad OR good guys. (I'll explain later) Finally, do you notice how things that people say seem to apply to only other people and not themselves? It is annoying; a bit like cheating, in fact.

Now, the thing about cheating is that it is... cheating. Ask any kid and they'll tell you that it's wrong, and 'not nice to do'. But the thing is, when is it counted as 'cheating'? A basic definition of cheating would be doing something that gives you an unfair advantage... or that's what it seems to me. So, when people accuse others of cheating, they are therefore accusing that person of this - an unfair advantage to win. But that person may have lost because of other reasons, such as lack of skills, distracted by personal problems, etc. But that doesn't mean that the winning person cheated. It just means that he was luckier, or had more skills. This type of thinking probably is known as the 'sore-loser' approach of thinking. They think that they are right, and that the other person (or other people) is wrong.

Which brings me to my next point: Good vs Evil. What is up with that? It always seems that good will win. However, evil wins too, sometimes. Everyone seems either to notice one or the other - not both. I guess it reflects your own mind of thinking: if you think of all the good things, then that means that you generally think positively; and regarding bad things, negatively. But everyone, no matter positively or negatively thinking, wants a happy ending. Like all good stories, there is always a happy ending, with the main characters fulfilling their tasks, and possibly getting a partner as well... only 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' is a bad ending, but it is for the extreme negatives, I suppose. Even after life there is a happy ending of sorts, with karma, reincarnations, and heaven waiting for us. I don't claim to be an expert on the afterlife, but isn't it the 'happiness place' for us? It is a place where we can live out our 'happily ever after', possibly forever. But anyway, back to good and evil. To me, good is overrated. Do you notice that people usually count themselves as 'good', or maybe even 'misguided', but never 'bad' or 'evil'? A twisted sense of self-worth, I suppose. If we went by everyone's standards of good and evil, then we probably wouldn't have good or bad people, because everyone just knows that they are good. (Even if you thought of someone as evil, to them, they would be good so...we could be going at this forever.) Anyway, it seems that everyone is very self-centred.

If we keep telling other people their own mistakes, but never bother to acknowledge our own, then wouldn't that kinda make us hypocrites? (P.S.: For those of you that don't know, a hypocrite is someone that says something and doesn't do it. Eg. Your mother tells you to go do your HW, and she doesn't do it. The fact that she probably DOESN'T HAVE any HW has nothing to do with it. You get the general idea, anyways.)

Well, I suppose we are mainly interested in looking out for ourselves. Sure, we're crude, we're mean (No, we're NOT green!), and are most likely arrogant enough to think that we are plain good, in both everything and anything, but we're still human.

Collection of Short Poems

1. A tiny little fishing boat
Went out to sea one day
And sailed so far it fell right off the
Edge of the world today.

(Believe it or not, people used to think that the world was flat. So, if you sailed too far in one direction, you were bound to fall off the edge of the world eventually.)

2. After the rain
Right behind me
A slight rainbow
I can see.

(For those of you that don't know, if you happen to see a rainbow, then your back is facing the sun.)

Disney Movie Sequels

I'm sure you people reading this have watched at least one Disney movie. But do you notice that some of the old movie (eg. Cinderella, Mulan) have sequels?

That's not all. I'm sure some of you have noticed that the main story of the sequels involves another character being paired off with someone new. Again and again, someone's getting married or going out together. That's altogether a lot of marriages. Seriously, the weddings they must be having.

Another thing I noticed is that the pictures are starting to seem a little pasted on, if you know what I mean. You know, as if they are cut out and then pasted on with glue or something. The outlines are too dark and so it gives the show that look. You try it. Compare it with the first movie and see.

Other than that, the shows and songs are still entertaining. Something to look forward to.

...

Come to think of it... maybe it was the first movies instead...?

The Colour Pink

Throughout the times, alongside with the facts that 'humans are the smartest animals on the planet' and the fact that 'humans ARE animals'... wait a sec, not that generalised...

Well, basically, the colour pink is often associated with girls... red, sometimes too... and the colour blue with boys. Why is this so? I mean, they're all just colours. Tones, shades, whatever you want to call it; it's all the same, really.

If you DO need proof that girls are 'more inclined' towards pink, think about this:

-Bathrooms are sometimes pink/red or blue depending on gender. (Door signs sometimes, the most common type is the colour of the walls in the bathrooms.)

-The stereotypical girl, 'Barbie', is pink (By this, I mean that everything about her is pink - the clothes; the makeup; heck, even the packaging is pink. Have you ever seen the toy stores with shelves full of 'Barbie' dolls? It looks like a pink paint bomb went off in that aisle! PINK EVERYWHERE!!!)

Come to think of it, 'Barbie' dolls also promote 'fashions', along with the more recent 'Bratz' dolls, etc. Very effective too. I mean, how many little girls knew about makeup, fashion, even about s**!

It's actually kinda depressing, the way children are maturing so fast.

Anyway... what else to put in this list... let me see, let me see...

-Girls are always said to like pink... if any boys like the colour pink, then they are automatically 'sissies', so to speak. (This is kinda unfair, seeing as some boys DO, in fact, like the colour pink. I should know, I've met some.)

Do you notice that 'tomboy-ish' girls happen to like dark colours, like black, dark blue, etc? Weird.

Erm... can't think of anymore for the time being. So, to end this: What do you think about this? Is pink really a girl's colour?

Anime

How many of you people reading this watch anime? Or have even heard of it? Right now, I'm going to tell you about some that I have heard of or watched before.

Firstly, anime is a bunch of cartoons made by the Japanese. But it's not just for kids. There are some anime for adults only and some for both too. There are a whole range of different topics and storylines for people to follow.

Another question you may be asking is what is the difference between anime and other cartoons? Well, say you are watching a cartoon that's not very realistic, say it has people and animals doing impossible stunts or something like that. That would probably not be an anime.

Anime charaters tend to have those big eyes and as someone once told me: "not dressed enough". Other than that, they have this different 'feel' from the other cartoons. They have these funny expressions sometimes; like if they are embarrassed they have this teardrop behind their heads. It really adds some humour to an otherwise weird story.

Some animes that are kind of famous are:

- Pokemon: Pocket Monsters. Ash Ketchem (main character) and his group of friends travelling with their Pokemon and battling gym members for badges.

-Digimon: Digital Monsters. It came out a few years before Pokemon, though some people think otherwise. A group of kids are on a camp when they are suddenly transported to a parallel digital world filled with monsters. They team up with some of the digimon to try and get home. This anime has 4 series.

- Naruto: The main character, Naruto, and his friends Sakura and Sasuke are ninjas in training. Before this, Naruto wasn't treated very nicely by the villagers in his village because the former leader sealed a fox demon into Naruto's body and whenever something bad happened, for example the crops weren't good or anything like that, the villagers would all blame it on Naruto because they thought he was the fox demon giving them bad luck. There's more than one story in this and you will have to watch to find out.

- Inuyasha: A schoolgirl from modern day Japan is somehow sent back to the Feudal Age, where there are demons all looking for something called the Shikon Jewel. At the beginning of the story, she finds out that she is the reincarnation of a priestess who guarded the Shikon Jewel. In fact the same priestess who told her followers to burn her with it to keep it safe from the wrong people. She also finds out that the Shikon Jewel is in her own body when a demon cuts her and it falls out. It breaks and now she has to find all the pieces before the bad guys do. With the help of the priestess' half-demon husband (ignore that part if you are going to watch this anime) and a bunch of others she starts on her journey.

- Yu-Gi-Oh: Yugi has a puzzle which has a spirit of a game king in it. This spirit helps Yugi in all his game challenges. The story starts when Yugi's grandfather loses a game of cards to the world champion Kaiba. Yugi challenges Kaiba and wins. Then, he is challenged by the inventor of the game Pegasus and loses so Pegasus steals Yugi's grandfather's soul and tells Yugi that if he wants to see his grandfather again, he has to join the Duelling Kingdom competition and win, even against Pegasus himself. So, Yugi, with a group of devoted friends, goes to the competition. And that's when things get interesting.

These are just some of many different anime. I hope you enjoy them.

Black and White

Whenever we think of these two colours, people immediately assume that black stands for evil while white represents all that is good and pure. Well, can someone tell me, what exactly do you mean by good?

I mean, say there's a murderer who did something really bad (I wonder what, maybe a murder?) and he was sentenced to death by execution or something. Well, does that make the people who did that any better? I mean, sure the murderer might have killed someone but does that make what the judge and the executioner and all those other people good? Because, if you think about it, they are killing someone too.

But that's not all. Some people use religion as a excuse to go killing others. Like erm... some people in history. They ruthlessly slaughtered people and what was their excuse? Oh, they were trying to change their beliefs, that's all. Still, it didn't explain why they tortured them; I mean, if you are trying to change people's beliefs, you wouldn't go cutting off their limbs and stuff, you'd just baptise them (if you were Christian) and go home. Wouldn't you?

Well, white could stand for innocence and all that, but white could also mean many different colours all together ( for example, take the Lord of the Rings: remember Saruman?) . So, if white was a lot of colours squashed together, could that mean that good is a whole lot of supposedly good acts combined?(Look at the examples above if you don't understand.)

P.S.: Some of these things mentioned are not meant to offence.
P.P.S.: Some things were read in places and are meant to plagurise

Seven Reasons Why I Don't Want To Be A Rock Star

1. Rock stars rock. I don't.
2. They seem crazy. (No offence). I do too, but I'm not about to tell the world about it.
3. They travel and don't have a lot of sleep. I need 10 hours sleep minimum.
4. I don't go round smashing guitars.
5. My idea of music is quite different. Mine actually sounds like music.
6. I don't know about you, but I don't fancy going deaf from listening to what some people call music.
7. To me, rock music seems to have three different sounds : loud, very loud, and going on deaf.

P.S.: Some things may be highly exaggerated. No part of this statement should be taken seriously.
